Politikus within company

A naapet Hotel Division GM walked into my office, shouting: "TC, where is my GLOW report?"

"Faak you! You think i report to you?"

"Today Sir."

"Less gossip. Work more. I need to justify to the bosses. Don't forget you are a cost to the company!"

"I don't gossip, you moron! Plus I justify and clarify to the Board. NOT TO YOU!"

This a the gayman GM of hotel division which has such bad mouth and manners, thinking that this is his father's bloody company. These are a few really bad traits by him...

1. He was seen using the ladies washroom once. psst...maybe he is a ladyboy...

2. He spreads rumour and gossips around, although he ask people not to gossip.

3. He never show trust in any of his staff. He doesn't even trust the hotel GM or FC. He must have been cheated throughout his life.

Lousy accountants

Today I wish to make another complain, which is on my bosses. Why? This is because I have never seen such lousy accountants in Malaysia.

Having lousy accountants are deadly to an organization. Plus the company Directors are totally ignorant about this issue, making matters even worse.

Here are the weaknesses detected in these 2 accountants in my current Company:

(Note: This is officially known by every staff, not personal. Whereas, the directors choose to be ignorant.)

1st Accountant, nick name naa-pet LP:

1. Consistently, sleeping in office around 11a.m. & 2.30p.m. every day. Also, sleep in meetings.

2. Does not bother to manage staff and job allocation in Finance Dept.

3. Talk a lot (damn good at talking), but do not walk the talk.

4. Borrowed money from Company's petty cash fund. Luckily being caught by Admin Manager who pities him and willing to lend him money from her own pocket.

5. Does not review files or worksheets which are forwarded to him.

6.  Attend meetings without viewing presentation slides which are sent to him earlier. In short, zero preparation for meetings.

7. Office hour from 8.30a.m-5p.m. But never reaches office before 9.15 a.m.

NOW ALREADY 10.01a.m., haven reach office!

8. Doesn’t read or reply emails which are sent to him.

9. Capable and good at earning credit and criticise his staffs in front of superiors.

10. Never voice out discontentment because he is afraid of making his bosses angry.

2nd Accountant, nickname sin-kar (in Cantonese: talk lots of nonsense):

1. Reaches office at 9.45a.m. Consistently. Recently better, reach at 9.15a.m.

2. Can't talk properly in English and Cantonese and Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia and whatever language you can name.

3. Doesn’t read or reply emails which are sent to him.

4. Talk lots of rubbish & nonsense. In short, talk cock.

5. Only knows surface of all issues. In details, he knows nothing.

6. Poor in accounting & technical knowledge. Where did he get his qualification?

7. Can’t present at all. Directors prefer the first accountant to do the presentation.

Having said all these, I vow to leave the company for good. I shall wait for the right time.

Time flies...and this has been 5~6 years since the last post. Today suddenly wish to post some of my feelings toward my surrounding friends.
Was quite frustrated with people who like to fong fei kei (ffk), meaning those who turn down meetings which were agreed earlier on.
Though there might be some urgent matters going on, but frequent ffk is annoying and frustrating.
This attitude downgrades one's personality and quality.
I must always remind myself not to do that.
This friend of mine has been doing ffk and many chances have been given to him.
This time I would never give him chance again coz I have totally given up on him.
Maybe this is one of the reason that he doesn't have a gf till now.

Anyhow, I wish he could change one day. A person should always improve oneself, continuously.

E-Government In Malaysia: Its Implementation So Far And Citizen's Adoption Strategies

E-government is the use of information and communication technologies in public administration combined with organisational change and new skills to improve public services and democratic processes and to strengthen support to public policies. E-government is a way for public administration to become more open and transparent, and to reinforce democratic participation: more service-oriented, providing personalized and inclusive services to each citizen.

According to the survey which done by Brown University on Rhode Island, United State, on international e-government ranking list, Malaysia is in the ranking of 25. Malaysia government has successfully implement the e-government. One of the most successful application are e-filling.

E-filling is a method of filing of all income documents of tax payer in Malaysia, that uses an electronic format rather than a traditional paper format, from office or home through Internet. To use this services, taxpayers need to make a tax registration. Malaysia's Inland Revenue Board (IRB) will send the PIN for online tax registration through mail to the taxpayers.

However, there are some problems faced in e-government implementation:
  • Language barrier - Most of the government websites using Bahasa Malaysia.

  • Technological barrier - Lack of technical infrastructure.

  • Online behaviour - Malaysians remain sceptical on being distrust on electronic transaction especially on online banking buying from an Internet store.

  • Lack of public awareness - Public are not aware of the services offered.

Ways to encourage more citizens to use the e-government applications:

  • Provide websites with multiple language version.

  • Increase awareness through TV and radio advertisements, and organising workshops at shopping malls.

  • Provide consultation services on how to use those services.

  • Simplify procedures needed to access to the e-government services.
